We are finally selling our Smart car, which has served our business well as an advertising tool for almost 10 years.
We are doing so as we have replaced it with a new Mini.
There are a few issues with the car, but it still runs. The issues we know about are as follows :-
There is a slow puncture in the front near side tyre.
The battery seems to flatten easily. (However the vehicle hasnt done a journey of more than 2 miles in the last 6 months so this isnt unexpected)
The main beam on the headlights isnt working. (The side lights, full beam and all others do, but it is not just bulbs as this has been checked)
The ABS judders some times when stopping gently.
The engine management light flashes sometimes, usually when cornering or changing gear.
The passenger door has dropped slightly.
There is one small scratch about 1" on the black bodywork, and one small mark on the passenger door panel about 1/4" where it looks like another car with a green door has knocked it.
The car is still sign written, and we would prefer not to have to remove those when sold.
It has never been involved in an accident and there is no finance outstanding.
It did have a reconditioned engine fitted at 69433 miles, in November 2006, by a dedicated Smart dealership (www.chequeredflaguk.co.uk)
And the work sheet is still available.
The car would be a good buy for someone able to take time to do a few minor repairs. Similar cars listed on sites such as autotrader are selling anywhere between £1400 and £2000 !! but we have only been offered £800 by webuyanycar, and think it is worth somewhere in between.
The photograph in the listing was taken some time ago, however nothing has changed, but we can provide up to date ones if required.
